Interested in leatherworking and hand stitching? Learn the fundamental skills you need to start working with leather by making a simple, useful card wallet! In this class you’ll be introduced to a wide range of leatherworking tools, materials and techniques such as saddle-stitching, sanding, and edge-painting.  By the end of the class, you will take home a functional, long-lasting card wallet for you to use every day or gift to a loved one.

This is a beginner level class, no previous experience necessary. Leather and all other tools will be provided!

About the Instructor: Defne has graduated from SCAD with a BFA in Industrial Design, with a minor in Accessory Design, where she studied and mastered leatherworking processes such as bag making and shoemaking. She has designed and produced her own line of luxury bags during her time in school.

Aside from her day job as a Furniture Designer, she is also the founder and maker at Solilo & Co, a handmade jewelry and home goods brand based in Birmingham, AL.
